South Harrow Baptist Church is a member of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the London Baptist Association. We support Home Mission and BMS World Mission financially, through prayer and we are linked to BMS Missionaries.
We support St Luke's Hospice, Kenton, for which we have a representative who brings us news of the hospice. We have had strong links with the Hospice since its inception and continue to hold an interest in its work. Some of our congregation take part in annual sponsored walks, parachute jumps and other fund raising events and as a church we hold Coffee Mornings dedicated to raising money for St Luke's.
We have close links with other Christian Fellowships in the area known collectively as Churches Together. There are regular meetings of church representatives from all denominations in South Harrow to discuss evangelism and outreach within our locality. Leaflets are jointly produced at celebration times throughout the year to inform our neighbourhood of the worship taking place within the different churches. We also have joint worship services, particularly at Easter-time, which demonstrates our strong Christian Unity.
Our Junior Church holds a special collection each week to financially support overseas projects for children. Currently they are supporting two projects:
- A ‘Child Ambassador’ under the auspice of Toybox.org.uk street children. Our Junior Church supports a boy living in Guatemala.
- The Barnabas Fund at https://barnabasfund.org is an organisation supporting Christians who are under pressure in their own country. The child supported by our Junior Church is a girl from Pakistan.
Other organisations we support include, SMILE International, Tear Fund, Premier Radio, London City Mission, local Homeless Charities and Harrow Foodbank.
